The Drew Barrymore Show: Daily Shows – Breaking the Studio’s Closed String Shortest Symmetry Contract – Have You Met?

The show’s premiere will be paused until the strike ends, according to a post on Barrymore’s social media accounts. I have no words to apologize to anyone I have hurt and to the amazing team who work on the show.

“We support Drew’s decision to stall the show’s return, and understand how difficult it has been for her,” a CBS Media Ventures spokesman said.

Other daytime shows have begun again. Fresh episodes have been produced for both “The View” and “Live With Kelly and Ryan” despite the fact that neither is governed by writers guild rules. The show is going to restart Monday.

Ariel Dumas, head writer and supervising producer for “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” reacted on X, formerly Twitter: “This is really great,” she wrote, saying “The Drew Barrymore Show” “decided to do the right thing. I hope @TheView and others will follow suit.”

As long as the hosts and guests don’t discuss or promote work covered by television, theatrical or streaming contracts, they’re not technically breaking the strike. That’s because talk shows are covered under a separate contract — the so-called Network Code — from the one actors and writers are striking. The Network Code also covers reality TV, sports, morning news shows, soap operas and game shows.

The Writers Guild of America and Screen Actors Guild are involved in a strike with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.
